You’ll have gnawed your fist down to the bone as the newbie terrorist waved C4 around frantically instead of planting it, dismantled the radio immediately in “cs_italy”, and accidentally shot a friend in the head at your starting point when you thought friend fire was off.

Welcome to the world of Counterstrike. If you’ve experienced more than one of these magical moments, this guide is for you. You’ll find basic weapon information, numerous tactics you can employ to increase your team’s chances of victory, and a detailed look at eight of the most popular Counterstrike levels around. So what are you waiting for? “Go Go Go!”

There are 16 different primary weapons (i.e. excluding the pistols) in Counterstrike. Some like the chunky goodness of the FN M249 PARA. Others favor the lightweight Steyr AUG. With this in mind, we’re listing our preferred weapons with plus and minus points to each one. You may have your own favorites, so if you see your pride and joy described as “fairly average”, don’t be appalled – the love of shiny metal objects that wound and maim is pretty subjective. And if you’re after information on the pistols, here’s some: Pick the Desert Eagle! Anyway, on with the gun show!

RATING – Each gun receives a rating from one to three stars:

FPS are undoubtedly one of the most popular genre in the areas of gaming, if not THE most popular game, and in this list I will explore 10 mind blowing games on the Windows System.

Please be mindful that most of these games were released fairly recently, with a few exceptions. Always check the system requirements, and update your PC hardware if you have some money to spare. It will be worth it, especially for the following awesome games.

Half Life 2

Half Life 2, released in 2004, was highly anticipated, especially because the original half life was universally acclaimed by many critics. Half Life 2 certainly lived up to its hype, with its stunning graphics and gameplay. The story continues from Half Life, featuring solid campaign with great visuals and audio. I was never a fan of puzzle, but Half Life 2 weaves some puzzle and brain teaser that were enjoyable at times. Of Course, how can I talk about Half Life 2 without mentioning the gravity gun? The game is worth getting just to play around with it. The game does have some flaws, one of them being its weak story (in my opinion). Also the random loading screen can ruin the moment sometimes. Play the game nonetheless, because it is one of the best shooters ever made.

If you play Half Life 2, and can’t get enough of it, check out Episode 1 and Episode 2, (Pretty

much same as HL2, but moves the story along)

Halo Combat Evolved

Halo was released in 2003, 1 year after it was originally released for the Xbox. I’m sure most gamers have heard of it, but it is definitely worth mentioning. Halo is your standard first person shooter, with a story driven 12 hour campaign. It does have good replay value, and the multiplayer servers are still fairly active. By today’s standards, the graphic will be a little outdated, but it will still be worth playing, especially for Sci Fi fans.

Chronicles of Riddick Escape From Butcher Bay

Chronicles of Riddick combines beautiful graphics with beautiful gameplay. It blends first person shooter with stealth, interwoven with a good story. The voice acting of Riddick is done by none other than Vin Diesel himself. It is a high quality production, but there is no multiplayer.

Bioshock

Pure awe went through my mind when I experienced this masterpiece. Bioshock was released in 2007 by 2K games, on the Pc and the Xbox360. The amazing graphics and the atmosphere of the game added to the realism, which made you believe that you are stepping into the shoe of the protagonist, Jack. The story is that you are a survivor of a Plane crash during the late 1940s, and took refuge in The Rapture, a failed utopia created by Andrew Ryan. There, you get to genetically modify and enhance yourself, as you battle Splicers, Big Daddies, as well as Bots as you survive. The game play of Bioshock is fairly simple, yet sophisticated at the same time. It combines some RPG and elements into the first person shooter genre, along with a few puzzles. The great voice acting adds to the story, which is another great element of the game. It does not however, feature a multiplayer mode, which is a shame.

Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl

Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl is loosely based on the 1979 Movie, Stalker. The game was highly anticipated and released to the Pc. It developed by the Ukrainian based team, who took time to observe the real geography and atmosphere of the region. The plot is that a second nuclear disaster occurs at the Chernobyl power plants, creating an area known as The Zone. You are a nameless Stalker, an illegal explorer/artifact scavenger, suffering from amnesia and on a lone mission to kill a Stalker named Strelok. Mutants roam the fields and the Bandits, Military, as well as the Mercenaries all want you dead. Like Bioshock, it features amazing graphics, especially in indoors, that really sells the tense, gloomy setting. Flaws? The games has performance problem and crashes, but patch 1.004 and above will solve most of it. Also, the story starts out strong, but the presentations of it sometimes deprive you of the plot and the characters needed for you to fully understand the story.

F.E.A.R. First Encounter Assault Recon

F.E.A.R. was released to the Pc on October 17, 2005 by Sierra Games. It is an “outstanding shooter that combines horror with kinetic and visceral action, and it elevates the genre to a whole new level of intensity”. What I loved about this game is the slow motion action, much like Max Payne s bullet time. You play as the newest member of the First Encounter Assault Recon, the military’s top-secret task force, gifted with inhuman reflexes. The outstanding graphics add on to the slow motion effect, and the atmosphere keeps you on the edge at all times. However, this game does have its flaws, one of them being its CPU usage, and reoccurring in-game objects.

Rainbow Six Vegas

Released in 2006, Rainbow Six Vegas is a superb first person shooter with great graphics and gameplay. The game requires you to use cover realistically and the approach every situation with care. It won’t let you run and gun like Rambo, but I did like the realism of it. The campaign features a storyline much like the TV show 24, and you play as Logan Keller, leader of one of Rainbow’s elite three-man counterterrorist assault teams. Multiplayer is still very active, and drives the game forward after the fairly short campaign is over. Flaws? There are few quirks to the game, but patches will solve that. Also, the story leaves you hanging.

Call of Duty 2

Released by Activision in 2005, Call of Duty 2 is another outstanding first person shooter taking place in various World War II battles, in which you play as the Americans or the British. Like the predecessor, Call of Duty 2 features excellent presentation of and varied missions. Multiplayer portion of it is very enjoyable, but it does have a performance problem at times. If you liked the first Call of Duty or any of the Medal of Honor games, Call of Duty 2 will definitely appeal to you.

Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare

Call of Duty changed its formula a bit, moved out of World War II into the modern battlefield with updated weapons. The result is Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare, a great sequel to the Call of Duty series. It features great voice acting and visual, augmented by beautiful graphics and voice acting. Online Mode is a blast, and is very active at time moment. Like its predecessors, the Campaign is intense and has many thrills and moments. However, it is very short, but online play will solve that problem.

Crysis

Crysis, developed by Crytek and released in 2008, is a first person shooter that features visually stunning open ended jungle, packed with intelligent, thrilling gameplay, and is easily one of the greatest shooters ever made. It includes a dynamic first person shooter gameplay, much like Far Cry, with unparalleled visuals. Flaws? Well, it will burn up your graphic card and CPU, unless they are high end hardware. This game is very system intensive, so download the Demo before you buy it.

Metion List:

I just saw the video posted on Wegame, which showed idiotic attacks on video game industry and its violence. May I just say that if you have a brain and is a gamer, you can probably deduce most of these media attack to be solely for the purpose generating money and views, instead of genuinely wanting to help the society.

I know that Fox news is a source of study for some parents, but please, any gamer will know that these 10 points made here are bullshit.

10. Video Game causes seizure.

Now, I don’t believe this to be true, but then again I’m no doctor or expert in the medical field. But, one search on google with a query, ‘video game cause seizure’ and I am taken to a site that states,

“Reports in newspapers and on television have heightened public awareness that playing video games can, in rare cases, trigger seizures, but there is no scientific evidence that video games can cause epilepsy. Playing video games is an extremely common pastime for many children, and they often play them for long periods of time. Because epilepsy is a common disorder, it is not surprising that some children will have their seizures while playing video games, just by coincidence.”

All I see is: Rare Case, No scientific evidence, Coincidence. Fuck You FoxNews.

9. 72 % of parents don’t know what’s inside the game that their child plays.

Well what the fuck? How in god’s green earth can you pin this on the gaming industry? Parents! As long as your 5 year old isn’t playing GTA, you are fine.

And a word of advice: Be active around your kid’s life. There are way more danger than your child playing a violent video game. Kids are getting stoned everyday. I see middle school rebels smoking behind a soccer field every practice.

If you think that a game is not right for them, talk to them. The gaming industry is not at fault for parents’ ignorance.

8. Gaming Cause Aggression

Again, this is not backed any solid study, and in my personal experience, there was nothing more relaxing than blowing heads off in games.

Seriously, after hard days of work, I find that video game actually relive my tension and stress.

7. Maple Story

Finally something we agree on. Maple Story is negativity around young kids, not because it “sucks you in”, but because it’s a shitty game. Those of you playing Maple Story, there are better option than a 2D game with no playing value.

And again, this is an idiotic accusation. “Battling Magical Monsters, Using Magical powers and potions, Sword, Weapons, and Trickery?”

Are you fucking stupid? You think this is bad?

Just take a look at the mindless violence and sex you see on TV and Cinemas.

6. Game Addiction Leads to Suicide

Suicides have nothing to do with video games. It’s because Johnny had no friends or because daddy didn’t love him enough.

5. Video Game Cause School Shooting

I’m guessing that this is the logic of fucktards like Jack Thompson.

Video Game = Guns

Guns = Shooting

Shooting = Death

So, by transitive property, Video Game = Mass Shooting

Give me a fucking break!

4. Ban Mature Game Sale To Minors

Happened already, but now adults are just smuggling games for their brothers. The new GTA is like the new drug on the street.

3. Game Used to Train Killers

So, by this logic, everybody playing Halo is a highly trained assassin, working for the government and trained to snipe without any emotion. Very plausible argument.

2. Counter Strike

Like #3, a game does not contribute to school shooting. It’s because Johnny was fucked up and could not take life anymore and wanted to go out with a bang. That’s all it is.

1. Trash Talking

There is nothing more that I hate than the 12 year olds that haven’t hit puberty, screaming the N word when playing Halo. These acts of stupidity and immaturity don’t reflect on the flaw of the game, but rather shows that well…we have bred a fucked up generation of kids.

Blame the idiots for trash talking, not the game.

Dear Nintendo…

My first post here on Negative Gamers and my first victim will be… (drum roll please) NINTENDO.

Let me get something straight first. Nintendo…I love you. You were my childhood hero, and I don’t hate you anymore than I hate Sony and Microsoft. In fact, I think you are superior to them in many ways, especially in of sales and profits. But, you do need to make some changes, because you are screwing gamers like me, who crave for more violent games with more matured content. I don’t want another fucking Mario game, so please take this article into consideration.

I’m sure there are technical difficulties such as Wii’s hardware flaw or profit issues with these games because I understand that the Wii wants to be a family system. But enough is enough. I want to see some fucking mind blowing, revolutionary, and most importantly gory game from Nintendo and that has not occurred yet.

Charts:

Just look at Amazon’s top seller within the video game category and you will notice that Nintendo dominates the chart with many of its products positioned within the top 8.

Well what’s the problem with this?

Nothing, this just proves that Nintendo is doing great, so hats off to you.

The Rant:

Ok, here we go. Feel free to send me hate mail or tell me how I am fucking wrong or retarded Nintendo lovers, but I am simply expressing my view.

The Kiddies Games:

Take a look at those 8 games and what do they all have in common? It’s all for kids. The plastic wheel to the Mario games and the Lego games, it’s all for fucking 7 year olds.

Nintendo, I am begging you. MAKE GAMES FOR ADULTS ALREADY!

We’ve all played the Mario games before, and it’s the same shit every year. Add a little gimmick with 3 new characters and bam! you have the new Mario game.

We need some VIOLENCE! And NO! Super Smash Brothers Violence ain’t enough. I need some prison mates shanked or heads blown off. I may be asking for too much because I do understand that the Wii has some limitations because of its hardware, and any 3d will look like shit. But if it is in anyway possible, please make games for Adults.

The Plastic Piece of Shit:

Another part of my rant goes to the fact that the Nintendo wheel is at number 2 in terms of sales.

What the fuck people. This wheel is not some cool gadget or device that will revolutionize your gaming. It’s a fucking white plastic shaped like a wheel that is made in China for 2 cents. I’ve held it before, and it’s a FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT PLASTIC.

What are people thinking? Who the fuck is buying this shit?

THE WII FIT:

I will have a full post of rant about wii fit soon, but for now, let me just say that the Wii fit can suck my dick.

I’m pretty sure that most of the people are buying this because they think it’s healthy or they want to lose weight, because if you think that the wii fit will provide you with $90 worth of pure entertainment, get you fucking brain checked.

Now I’m no expert in the field of weight loss. In fact, I am cursed with super high metabolism and have been skinny and under weight most of my life. How did I pack on weight and regain my self esteem? Through hard work in the gym and a proper diet that’s what.

If you expect to lose weight and get healthy through some shit you do in front of TV, then fucking forget it. What’s the difference between the Wii fit and those scams of a workout DVDs that you see on Saturday morning TV? Nothing.

Bite the bullet and join a gym and break a sweat. 90% chance that Wii fit won’t have an effect on your fat ass.

Guitar Hero:

This doesn’t just fall under Nintendo, but pretty much every major system. What is so attracting about Guitar Hero? Is the music? The guitar?

Well, I have nothing against music, but do you really need to play some song with a fake, miniature, plastic guitar? Is it really worth $90? I see my friends addicted to guitar hero and it sickens my heart.

Playing an instrument takes real skill and dedication, and playing a half sized guitar with colored button doesn’t count. It’s a fucking baby toy.

Just remember this: You will NOT get laid playing a plastic guitar.

Well, that’s the end of my rant. Hope you got offended, and Nintendo, please. Make some violence games.
